Installing a French Drain for a New Home

If you live an area that has a clay pan you need a french drain to keep your yard dry. Without one, you will end up with soft areas in your yard and along the side of your house, that will be difficult to maintain.

We waited for the fence to be put up first so the french drain will not be affected by the fence posts. We have also prepared the yard for an irrigation system. We don’t want the irrigation company to compromise our sealed system. It is a fully contained system, we don’t want another contractor to cut into it to connect their system.

You can see the hose that we have running under the french drain. We did this so the company can just tie into those pipes instead of ripping into the french drain system and compromising it.
