Installing a French Drain Under the Sidewalk

We are installing a french drain and wanted to show you how we are going to take the system to the curb by going under the sidewalk.

We tunneled under the sidewalk and are using a piece of PVC pipe that we have glued a connector to that we will use to connect the corrugated pipe. You can see we have already made this connection on the other side of the sidewalk.

We have our trench wrapped in filter fabric and the PVC pipe. It is difficult to see the connector because the corrugated pipe has already been connected to it.

Now we are taking the system to the curb. We have hauled away all the dirt we took out. Do not put any of the dirt that you take out of trench back into it. This will prevent the system from working effectively and give it an early expiration date.
